How the sweater does the work?

Hat from Bandung; sweater from Factorie; mum's working dress; sandals frm House of Donatello.

Pardon the lack of energy in the pictures today. I was suffering from diarrhoea and stomach ache. I felt so terrible till the rays of sunlight that were left in the evening gave me some energy and I came up with this look. Well, I was wearing the sweater for the day, so I just add on a dress that mum passed on to me a few days ago. The hat was just a random add-on to the look. It was the words on the sweater - Keep calm and stay classy - that got my attention and had me buy it. Well, there goes my first cool sweater! (:

Something vintage;

My friend got me a sweet vintage like necklace a few months back, and I just couldn't part with it. It has this little clock ticking inside it so I just have to open it to check out the time.

I can't believe a week is almost over and my break is ending soon. Still, I hope all of you have a wonderful day!

Iban Costume!

My birthplace is known as the Land of the Hornbills, which is commonly known as Sarawak. Majority of the  natives are made up of Iban people.

This attire I'm wearing is the Iban costume. My aunt lent it to me when I went back there for holiday. The corset, also known as rawai, is embellished with myriads of antique coins. The head wear (sugu tinggi) is not easy to put on too. Believe me, it does look nice when one is wearing the whole piece of original costume, but it's seriously heavy. It was hard to parade around with it as I was weighed down by the weight of the corset and head wear. Well, perhaps for those who are used to wear this costume, it wouldn't be that bad at all.

It's the third day of my Raya break, and I did get sufficient amount of rest. And before the day end, I would like to wish all the Muslims a very Selamat Hari Raya! (:

Ribbon Clip

Ribbon Clip from Chameleon.

This little red clip caught my eye when I was searching for a unique hair clip in the shop. It's red, looking as sweet as it can be, and matches well with anything one can put on.

The Casual Pants

Wearing: Seed top, Cache Cache pants, Bonita sling bag, House of Donatello gladiator sandals.

I had a random photoshoot with one of best friends today. She really has a knack for selecting places and taking nice pictures. This casual wear was something I picked out in a hurry to celebrate a friend's birthday. I really love the gladiator sandals I bought in Bandung. Somehow, it just matches with most of my outfits. (: And notice the little ribbon clip on my hair? It has become one of my most favourite clips. The grey pants give different tones of colour under the sun, and it's just a perfect match to the yellow top.

Well, fourth year has commenced a few days ago, and I was kinda busy with the new semester. Another holiday is coming up, so I'll be able to take more pictures with the new outfits I bought when I was on holiday.

Sweet Flowery Top

Tops from Elle; jeans from Pop Soda; slippers from Havaianas (thanks to my aunt); shades from Bonita; scarf from a boutique; bag from night market.

I like wearing jeans. They go well with almost any tops. This top, though may be out of season, is just nice for a perfect day out. And fashion can never be out of date. It all depends on how you dress up yourself at a certain time and place. (:

Yes, YOU!

I received this from a person I barely knew in a workshop when I was studying abroad. It bears an important message that every living person is already making a difference with the little things he/she does. So to all of you out there, remember this: WHO I AM MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

Gladiator Sandals

Gladiator Sandals from House of Donatello.

Something I purchased when I travelled to Bandung. They are comfortable and cosy to wear. Cosy sounds like a big word, but it's true! Totally love the design and colour. Finally got what I've been searching for a long time. (:

*House of Donatello boasts a wide variety of local brand footwear. I talked to the workers over there and learnt that the footwear sold are made meticulously, thus ensuring its quality. Since I'm the kind of person who emphasizes on quality and comfortability, I would recommend anyone who want to shop for footwear in Bandung to visit this place.

Trip to Bandung (July 2012)

Sorry for the lack of update for the past 2 weeks. I was in Bandung, Indonesia with my friends. Let the pictures tell you our stories. (Pictures of my friends and I were not shown upon request.)
Sunrise!
Hello Bandung!
Gado-gado - A famous Indonesian dish that comprises cooked vegetables and peanut sauce.  It tasted somewhat like Rojak.
The street was out of electricity when we came back at night.
The hotel worker gave us candle for that.
Small souvenir shops that even sell real gemstones.
The crater of the volcano.

Sari Ater Hotspring. This is the first pool, and it was really really really HOT!
The driver we hired was amused with our reactions.
Horse-riding. He's a 3 years old male horse and I nearly fell off coz he was afraid of  a  tractor.
My riding instructor. It wasn't hard to communicate with him in Indonesian language.
He's really friendly and told me about his life and how they live with ~RM10 each day.
It made me appreciate whatever I have in life.

On the way to Kampung Daun.
Kampung Daun.
It's like a mini tropical forest sanctuary where you dine with the
melodious harmony of rustling of the wind and flow of the stream.
The natural surrounding is so serene and peaceful.
At Kampung Daun.
My dessert. Can't remember its name though. >.<
The cheese and coconut toppings together with the cassava were fabulous.
Had Grilled beef rib before that.
Paris Van Java Mall.
Was so happy I finally satisfied my cravings after 3 long years.
Sour Sally it is.
-SLURPS-
Avocado cake from Kartika Sari for high tea. (:
My awesomely grilled blackpepper medium done steak.
Jessie James boutique!
Well, I left out all the shopping photos. Frankly, I didn't take much this time. Most pictures seen here are my third/fourth day in Bandung.

I was there 3 years ago. This time, I got to travel the city like a real traveller. Taking angkutan kota (small stuffy mini van) and figuring our ways around the city, while trying hard to talk to the locals in my not-so-fluent-Indonesian language made this trip really memorable. Though the air is polluted, and the cars honk non-stop, we still walked down the street searching for places to explore. The only thing we didn't dare trying was the roadside food. I really didn't want a diarrhoea that could ruin the trip.

There are factory outlets everywhere in Bandung. Though most of the clothes are not of the latest season, it didn't really matter to me. All you ever need is to mix and match at an appropriate time and place. And, that is fashion all about.
