French & Fish-Tail Braid

French plait.
Fish-tail braid.

It was a random morning where Charlene tied my hair for me. :D Well, I wanted to go with a fish-tail braid, but in the end, it was a mixture of French and big fish tail plait, which was totally awesome!

It's the last day of September! I hope September has treated all of you well. (:

Classy Casual

Top from Antropology (Bandung), pants from Cache Cache,
belt and necklace from Padini, heels from CarloRino,
cardigan from Voir, bag from night market.

The weather has been a little chilly lately as it was raining most of the time, but it feels refreshing as well. I decided to wear my top, cardigan and heels out one night and see how well they match each other to give a look of casual classiness. The bangle I'm wearing is actually a necklace. I love how the beads on it blend so perfectly to make a beautiful bangle. And what I love about this is that you don't have to spend much to look classy, it's just matching the perfect pieces together and let them bring out the classiness in you. (:

Beautiful tiny details,

Love the shadow!
Little pieces of a necklace.

Carlo Rino heels, Padini belt and necklace.

Here's a sneak peak to my next post. Well, I put on these accessories and found that they match my outfit perfectly. I love the necklace, which can be worn as bangles. I also like the gold plated flower belt too!! And to be able to buy these, including the heels during sales made me a happy girl. :D

Sexual Slavery

Many have heard of it, pitied the victims and offered physical and emotional supports to them. Many find it nice discussing/debating about this issue, but most of them find it hard to accept the victims into our society, for reasons like they are 'different', HIV carriers or AIDS patients. It saddened me whenever I see others being treated that way. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED AS SUCH, for they've never asked for all of that to happen to them. NO ONE. They are helpless victims, whom as young as 2 or a baby, forced into sexual slavery without knowing what it all means.

15th September;

Dress from Esprit; wedges from Crocodile;
free handbag from Clinique (thanks); Mary Kay dusty rose lipstick;
Inglot eyeshadow and eyeliner, Loreal foundation, Estee Lauder blush.

It was my birthday so it's a girls' night out for me and my housemates. We had a wonderful dinner and thereafter, we just hung around and talked all night. It's been so long since I'm able to slack for the night, partly because of my busy schedule. So cheers for tonight; for being able to bask in the glory of a wonderful night.

Bloggers Against Social Injustice

I happened to chance upon this blog that put words into actions. Recently, the 3rd Annual Freedom Walk is held in Canada to raise funds for victims of human trafficking. Read it HERE.

If I happened to be there, I would join them, and help them in any way I can. This is one of my dreams - to be able to help people who are in need of help. It touched me that there are people in the world who still really care for the victims.

Being born in Malaysia, a peaceful country, I've grown only to learn about human trafficking, genocide, global hunger, labour exploitation, illegal child adoptions and poor sanitation through news, words of mouth and when I went abroad to study for A-Levels. I'm saddened by all these issues, yet have no idea how can I help these people. All I am capable of is helping out in welfare homes.

Now that there's a platform for us to reach out and lend a helping hand, I'm all for it. And even though the voice here is little, I know it'll build with time, and one day, it'll be known globally.

A skirt worn in different ways!

Top and skirt from a boutique; necklace from a mall;
sandals from House of Donatello; bag from Clinique;
belt from Dorothy Perkin; Estee Lauder lipstick.

I wore the long blouse for my posting today. It feels good to dress up with something different other than collared formal top. Not all can afford branded fashion wear. It's all about mixing and matching, and putting on some extra accessories like a necklace and belt to style yourself. The skirt I bought, can be wore in many different ways. One example would be in this post: http://seaseasonstyle.blogspot.com/2012/09/going-vintage.html

How would you style yourself? Tell me your story. (:

Today's voices.

A post from my personal blog: Just Believe.
Dated 4th September 2012.

Rachel wrote a beautiful post (HERE) that totally resonates with my thought about Disney. I love it the moment I got to know about it.

It was magical to be drawn into the world of fairy tales and princesses when I was young. Well, every girl dreams to be princess. Now that I'm older, and perhaps to some, a little too childish to love Disney, I'm still gonna love Disney anyway. (There's a child in every adult.) (: Somehow, it makes me happy, serves as a source of motivation to keep me going, and reminds me of the little girl who believes that dreams do come true.

There goes the part-time dreamer, and now, back to reality. I was attached to a Colorectal Hospital Clinic today. Watching how the Medical Officer (MO) treating the patients made me ponder about the attitude of young doctors today. Many failed to explain the underlying problem of a disease the patient has, either because they are too busy clearing off the countless patients they have to attend to in a day or they simply think that its hard to communicate to the patient due to language barrier. You can't let an obstacle be an excuse, would you, especially when a patient place his/her faith and trust in you to treat him/her? When one first choose this profession, or any other professions, one should have realised the hardships the profession offers, and try one's best to tackle it wisely.

In the ward, I try my best to listen to the patients, to make out every word they say and be patient with them. Yes, I'd be lying if I say I was never annoyed with them especially when I'm tired, groggy or when some situation arises. I'm still a human. There are times when the mood swings just pops by and messes up with my mind. I tend to feel grouchy at times. I could be the happiest person in the world for a second, laughing crazily for another second, being dramatic for a quarter second and the next moment, standing at a point looking like a lost puppy, doubting myself and the future, feeling like an emotional freak in a circus. Diagnose me with a histrionic personality disorder and I'll just shove you off. LOL just kidding! (I haven't done my psychiatry posting and am like a newborn baby in this specialty.)

These emotions or mood swings introduce us to Fear, an abstract element that lead to self-doubt, then the lack of confidence and change in our perception and finally neglecting our duties. It's through all the itsy-bitsy ups and downs, that I gained experience and kept reminding myself to NEVER EVER fall prey to Fear and doubt my confidence, to accept the situation and move on, and find an alternative to any impasse-like situation I come by.

"Somehow I can't believe there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C's. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy and the greatest of these is Confidence. When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably." ~Walt Disney

And hence the title of this blog - Just Believe
To breath.
To have faith, hope, love and trust.
To dare to dream.
And to live with sunshine, smiles and laughters.

Pink and Vintage!

Dress from Esprit; Padini necklace; Diva hairclip and bag from night market.

It was the day before Malaysia's 55th Independence Day. The whole week basically ended for me. I was really exhausted from the mundane schedule, but still decided to get out of the room to buy some groceries. I tried on my new Esprit dress I bought when I travelled and it does go well with the vintage-like flats. It's really comfortable too! Charlene accompanied me throughout the night, thanks! After grocery shopping, we went to this restaurant called LeBoss that serve delicious local and western cuisine. And that's how we spent the night welcoming Malaysia's Independence Day!

Something warm and simple

Staying in hostel without any pantry doesn't stop you from cooking.

Ingredients: English spinach, Chinese five spice tofu, oyster mushroom, Maggi chicken stock cube, water.

It was an exhausting week. I bought some groceries at the end of the week so I could cook something nice to eat. Well, our hostel doesn't allow us to cook, you see. Anyway, I got a rice cooker, and I use it for basically everything I wanna eat over here. So forward to the part where I made a simple warm bowl of soup for dinner and share it with my house mate. It was heavenly to taste something home-cooked when I hadn't have a proper meal since the semester started. (:
