From Paris, With Love.


Remember I told you that I went to Paris during my last year's summer holiday?

I got myself this scarf as a souvenir from a small souvenir shop by the street.  Whenever I put on this scarf, it reminds me of the scorching sun accompanied by the breezy wind in Paris, not to mention its amazing intricately designed architecture of buildings and all the lovely sights I've came across.

I recall walking down the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. All the upscale shops with luxury brands can be found in this area. I enjoyed walking along the street and walking into random branded shops just to browse through their goods, leaving my fingerprints everywhere. :P Well, they are WAY BEYOND my budget.

So I've been to one of the richest street in the world and several unknown areas in a few developing countries. The stark differences of the way people live widen my horizons. I learnt to appreciate all the things that I'm blessed with. One thing I learnt from these people is that they continue to survive with all the means they have, be it the rich or the poor. All of us are born into different families. Some are born with a silver spoon in the mouth, some are born abandoned, some are born into a poor family, but this doesn't stop us from living, because all of us are gifted with Life.

The recent news about the missing MH370 have left many heartbroken, disappointed and fueled with boiling anger. So many theories have been conceptualized, yet the mystery remains unsolved with the black box nowhere to be found. However, seeing how the people and countries coming together to offer their help and supports give us a glimpse of hope that humanity still exists. One little kind action from a person could mean so much more to those who are affected. I know it's not easy dealing with loss(es), especially when there's no evident closure to it. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." No doubt it's not easy, and tears will continue to flow, but I hope that the care and supports offered by others will help to ease their pain. My heartfelt condolences to the affected families on the loss of their loved ones. I pray that you will be strong. May the souls RIP.

Paris: The City of Light and Love!

So here's the long-awaited post, as promised.

It was last year, during my Summer holiday, that I got to visit Paris for the first time in my life. It was an incredible experience, to walk along the streets of Paris and visit the ever famous Eiffel Tower. Let the pictures do the talking.

So my three days trip to Paris ended in a blink of an eye. Paris is indeed a beautiful city and I wish to explore more of it. I was totally amazed by the architecture of the buildings. Though the sun was scorching hot, the wind neutralizes the heat. I walked to my heart's content, and finally understood why they call it the City of Love.

Starting Anew: You, you and you, are beautiful!

Dedicating this specially to my devilish yet angelic support system: 

Beauty, is such an abstract word that has been given arbitrary meanings by so many people around the world. Medical professional defines beauty by a certain criteria, some races define beauty by their traditional costumes, philosophers define beauty philosophically etc.

Beauty, to me, lies within and without. Audrey Hepburn portrays the classical exquisite physical beauty. What really touched me was a quote by her, "As you grow older, you’ll discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, the other for helping others." She is beautiful for she has helped and influenced so many people in world as a fashion icon. She may not be perfectly beautiful, and the rumours/scandals about her flawed that beauty, but she still is beautiful in her own way.

Kahlil Gibran once said, "Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." This statement is what most people would agree on, yet I believe some disagreement are based on the importance of physical beauty. A beautiful person keeps giving, and never expect anything in return, apart of not compromising his/her welfare. A beautiful person has no jealousy, no greed, no anger and no evil intentions. A beautiful person has a genuine transparent smile that could rekindle the light of smile in others. A beautiful person does not fake the beauty. It shines wherever the person is.

Mandy Hale wrote that, "There’s nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others." I have always admire someone like this for it requires more than just courage and sacrifice that may be buried from the knowledge of the world, and a beautiful heart to do so.

I definitely love how Elizabeth Kutler Ros views beauty, "The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen." 

To all the people who walk into my life, thank you for being beautiful, for teaching me what beauty means, and for making my life a beautiful one. For these reasons, I am dedicating this piece to all of you who have inspired me in so many ways.

It didn't matter if you have loss a limb, or your face is scarred or if you are sitting on a wheelchair, because the beauty in you outshines your physical beauty. You taught me to be myself. This is for you. "Your chromosomes have combined beautifully." You, you and you, are beautiful.

Life Cliches

As far as I've live, I have learnt a few things. The points may seem to be trite, but it's these cliche of life that keep us living all these while, no?

1. Be yourself.
2. Be appreciative.
3. Be true to the people around you. Be sincere.
4. Never let the rumours get into your mind. It's TOXIC. As bad as it can be, it makes you doubt yourself. If you think that what you've done is right and appropriate, let it be. The truth will always be revealed someday. Always remember, 'Those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind."
5. Be considerate to others. The world doesn't revolve around you.
6. Stand up for yourself, speak for your mind. No one will do that for you.
7. Live every moment. Grab every opportunity. And have fun in the things you do.
8. Surround yourself with the people who accepts you and love you for who you are.

Look around you, and bask in the beauty of your surroundings. Appreciate what is given, what is owned and what exists around you.

The necklace shown is my little precious gift. I have a few gifts like that. Some are from my dearest friends and some from me, to spoil myself once in a while. (:

My days have been pretty packed and tiring lately. I really hope I can find the time to sit down and write a proper post, as I have promised.

Happy 2014!!!

Every year passes silently with loud fireworks creating a piece of art in the night sky. Time never wait for us. The very cells that form each and every one of us will age with the passing time and finally, we return to Mother Earth.

So each new year comes with renewed resolution and wishes, new dreams, hopes and unwavering faith. Everything seems renewed or new, but it's just another cycle of repeating what was repeated.

I know I sounded down, but I am totally fine. Just voicing out my thoughts.

So New Year is just like walking down a new path; like the undivided waves that constantly hit the shore, mark it and then disappear silently; like the sun that continues to rise and set. I am grateful to be surrounded by the people who matters to me and care/support me in their own ways.

So here's a piece to my devilish angels:
I LOVE YOU GUYS! Thanks for being a part of such an awesome support system that kept me alive these years. Thanks for making my life colourful. Thanks for showering me with love and trust and sincerity. I'm blessed to know all of you. 

No one is a nobody, everybody is a somebody to the people who matters. So whenever you are down or being trampled on, don't forget that I'm always by your side. Remember that no one can hurt you, for you are the one to decide on that.
